Village Walk
A morning in a Cambodian village, guided by somebody who lives there.
Treak Village is ten minutes from the centre of Siem Reap. This is a five kilometre walk through it, led by somebody who grew up here.
You will see how rice is grown, walk down the village street, visit a herb garden and a small distillery that makes gin from local plants, and stop at Wat Athvear, a quiet old temple with no crowds. Halfway through there is a proper break with something to taste.

Families
Families are welcome. While the adults visit the distillery, children can stay across the road with the frogs and the rabbits, and the group carries on together afterwards.
Where your money goes
The walk starts at Treak Community Centre, a free school where around 300 children learn, mostly English, and their families pay nothing.
Your $25 pays wages in this village and helps keep that school running. Nothing leaves Treak.

Two things we ask
Please do not photograph the children at the school. Their families have not agreed to it, and we protect that. Everything else is yours to photograph.
Please do not give money or presents directly to a child. If you would like to help, you can do that at the shop, and it reaches all of them.
